The national flag of the Republic of Macedonia depicts a stylized yellow sun on a red field, with eight broadening rays extending from the center to the edge of the field.

I found that the most efficient way of doing the flag without having too many yarns zigzagging on the back side, is to use six different pieces of yellow yarn to do the horizontal rays and the four corner ones. Main yellow yarn is then used to do the vertical rays as well as the sun.
Red yarn is also best used in six sections. With one, do the two sections in either side of the top and bottom vertical rays. And use a different yarn for each of the four sections in left and right of the sun.
This pattern is worked horizontally starting from top left.
